Can Cantó Ibiza | Nostradamus, Off the Grid, Self-Sufficient

As free spirits, we wanted to create a way to go off the grid and live to be self-sufficient without having to worry about property taxes or problems caused by new world-order governments.

This is how we realized our oasis of freedom and harmony on the magical island of Ibiza.

Magical Island – Phoenicians

As a result of its rich, red soil, which is non-volcanic, and the island's forbidding survival of any reptile, animal, insect, or plant that could harm humans, the early Phoenicians believed Ibiza was a magic island blessed by the Gods.

With Blakstad architects and design, we made Can Cantó a tribute to the Phoenicians, who conquered the magical island around 680 B.C. We created a Phoenician oasis - a little self-sustaining paradise.

Mythical Island – Nostradamus

'Ibiza will be Earth's final refuge' - Nostradamus According to the predictions of Nostradamus, a 15th-century French astrologer & physician, Ibiza will be the only remaining life-supporting environment when nuclear disaster wipes out most life on Earth because of its peculiar wind patterns.

Mysterious Island – Es Vedra

You might hear many different stories about Es Vedra. Es Vedra is credited with producing giant circles of light from the sea, up to 50 meters in diameter.

A powerful magnetic force is said to emanate from Es Vedra, attracting unexplained phenomena.

Water Well – No Microplastics

In urban areas, houses are supplied by city water - often polluted with microplastics or worse.

The campo villas in rural areas get their water delivered by truck – 10,000 to 20,000 liters.

Some have their own water wells.

At Can Cantó, we struck water on our own land. At 114 meters deep, we heard people shouting, “Agua, Agua!”

Our water well provides fresh, non-polluted water from Mother Earth. Our unique filter system serves high-quality water. You can drink all you want – saving so many plastic water bottles and money per year.

We tested our water against 7 brands from local supermarkets.

After some tweaking, our water came out as the cleanest and healthiest.

In case of fire or lack of water supplied by the local government - Can Canto will stay self-sufficient.

No matter what happens in the future, our water supplies are ‘always on.’

Microgrid – Independence

Our Can Cantó microgrid is a localized energy system that can operate independently or in conjunction with the main electrical grid. It is a small-scale, self-contained power system that can generate, distribute, and control electricity for a specific area or community.

Microgrids are designed to provide a reliable and resilient energy supply, often incorporating a mix of energy sources (solar, wind, water) and advanced control technologies.

The benefits are many. In an outage, for example, the electricity network or gas supplier goes down - at Can Cantó, you won’t notice a thing.
